Ladera Ranch: The Village Glow-Up
Ladera Ranch is famous for its community spirit, and the 2025 Holiday Decorating Contest did not disappoint. From full-blown "Jurassic Christmas" themes to elegant, classic displays, the villages are glowing this year.

Mission Viejo: 53 Years of Holiday Magic
Mission Viejo has been doing this since the 70s, and the 53rd Annual Holiday Home Lighting Contest proves they’ve still got it. The Mission Viejo Activities Committee (MVAC) puts out a massive list every year that serves as the perfect "treasure map" for light seekers.

Lake Forest: Neighborhood Favorites
While Lake Forest doesn’t have a city-wide "winner list" with addresses for 2025 just yet, the city has a long history of incredible displays. In past years, the city hosted a "Holiday Lights Competition" that mapped out the best homes in town.
Where to look:
Even without a formal 2025 list, you can usually find incredible displays in the Baker Ranch and Foothill Ranch neighborhoods. If you want to see how the city has organized these in the past, check out their previous competition page:

Pro-Tips for Your Holiday Lights Tour:
- Go Mid-Week: If you want to avoid the "Buscador Traffic Jam" in Mission Viejo, try a Tuesday or Wednesday night.
- Check the Times: Most displays turn on at dusk (around 5:00 PM) and shut off by 9:00 PM or 10:00 PM to be respectful of neighbors.
- Walk Where You Can: In Ladera Ranch, many of the best displays are in cul-de-sacs that are much easier (and more fun) to see on foot.
- Bring the Cocoa: It’s a South OC tradition!
